Regarded as one of Country Music’s’ greatest performers, Charlie McCoy is celebrating 48 years as a master studio musician and performer.
He has recorded with the world’s greatest stars including Elvis, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and literally hundreds of others. He has recorded nearly 50 solo albums and served as the music director for eighteen years for the syndicated television series, “Hee Haw”, Country Music’s most successful TV variety show. He continues to tour and perform in Japan, Europe and Scandinavia, and all of North America.
In 2009, Charlie received perhaps his greatest honor, being inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame along with Roy Clark and Barbara Mandrell. He is a member of the Grand Ole Opry and headlines there regularly. His autobiography, “50 cents and a Box Top, the Creative Life of Nashville Session Musician Charlie McCoy”, was published by West Virginia University Press in 2017. An original member of the legendary Million Dollar Band, McCoy is one of the most recorded musicians in the history of music.
