Keyboardist and drummer Jim Willis was a former member of the Louisville Youth Orchestra, the Louisville Orchestra and a theater musician for 33 musical productions in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.
Jim holds a minor in music from Indiana University studying with Rubin Sher, Jamie Aebersold, David Baker and the Indiana University Jazz Clinic. In 1997 he joined the Wayne Young Band on keyboards touring the Midwest in “Slow Hand”, a tribute to Eric Clapton. He was a member of Louisville’s Unlimited Show Band, voted the best Derby City performing group and awarded a key to the City of Louisville in 2008. He has opened for, or performed with, Blood Sweat and Tears, Trace Adkins, Donovan, Leon Russell, Boyz II Men, Average White Band and Country Music Hall of Fame member Charlie McCoy.
He has been a contributor to multiple recording projects with Wayne Young and McCoy.
